Snow falling on the cabin they had rented for the weekend, muffling what few sounds rose in the woods. Kazutaka sat in the open doorway, legs folded under him as he looked out over the wooded slope. Ukyou came to his side, kneeling down.
"It's so lovely," she murmured.
"And so quiet," he replied.
She looked up at him. "Perhaps I should be quiet, so I won't disturb the silence," she says. "That's why we cam up here."
He put an arm about her, drawing her close to his side. "Your voice is so soft, it hardly disturbs the silence."
