The one who had harmed him had, in so doing, made him something no longer human, something beyond what he had been, a creature of the darkness. Granted, it brought its benefits, its skills that made him more resilient, made him more powerful, but it had stripped away many of the things that made him human. Even with those strengths, he missed being human.
Two people had, in one cruel gesture, lost their humanity, and while he could not return to his human state, he would have revenge for that. The one who had destroyed his life would be destroyed.
