31halloween's "horror movies". Featuring Tsuzuki, Hisoka, and the Hokkaido duo, aka Saya and Yuma. Inspired by something that actually happened to me when I was watching a horror movie with my best friend and his future wife.
Saya and Yuma were in town, staying in Tsuzuki and Hisoka's apartment and they wanted to stay in and watch a movie.
"How about we rent a romantic comedy?" Tsuzuki suggested.
"They always make you get all mushy and weepy," Hisoka grumbled.
"Awwww, that's sweet," Saya cooed.
"Afraid your partner might get all lovey-dovey with you?" Yuma teased.
"Never mind that!" Hisoka snapped.
"Oooh, it is getting close to Halloween, so how about we rent a horror movie?" Tsuzuki offered, and changing the subject to keep those two from embarrassing Hisoka any further.
"Isn't that too much like the kind of things we see at work every day?" Hisoka noted.
"Oooh, that sounds perfect!" Yuma squeed, ignoring Hisoka's observation.
"If we get scared, can we hold onto you?" Saya asked, looking up at Tsuzuki.
"Oh, of course you can," he said with a smile. Hisoka wondered if his partner had suggested this kind of movie on purpose, just so one of those hugging harpies would grab onto him. Well, better Tsuzuki than him: he did not think he could handle that level of terror.
They settled on "The Ring", which the girls had seen, but which neither of the guys had seen. Then the girls insisted on sitting in between Tsuzuki and Hisoka, so that they (the girls) would feel safer. Hisoka barely tolerated the idea: he had a bad feeling about it, that no good could come of this. And that had nothing to do with the events on the screen.
Sure enough, during the scarier parts of the movie, the girls jolted and grabbed him almost as often as they jolted and grabbed at each other or at Tsuzuki.
At the climax of the movie, when Hisoka had his eyes glued to the screen in sheer terror, he felt his emotion suddenly start to escalate. Then he realized he was sensing not just his own fear, but the fear rolling off the other three. He was about to move away, when all three grabbed onto him, yelping in fear.
"GAAAHHH!" Hisoka yelled from under the dog pile of shinigami. "Get your damn hands off me, it's just a stupid movie and we deal with scarier things every day!" he snarled. "And we're all dead anyway."
"But we don't deal with scary killer video tapes," Tsuzuki squeeped.
