Author's Note: Written for Yami no Matsuei, Tsuzuki/Hisoka, at a dessert shop
The one thing that wore on Hisoka's patience the most, when Tsuzuki dragged him into a dessert shop: the amount of time Tsuzuki took picking out something to order. Tsuzuki quite literally loved everything in the case or on the menu.
"Ooh... they've got those chocolate-filled eclairs," Tsuzuki said, as he stooped before the glass-fronted show cases. "But I had those the last time... Hmm! Brownie sandwiches? That sounds good."
"They aren't exactly cheap, and Tatsumi wants you to keep your spending within the budget," Hisoka said, leaning against the frame of the case, watching his partner trying to get his naturally flitty mind to settle on something, some one thing. Anything. Just so they could make their order, sit down, eat it and be on their way.
Tsuzuki darted a pleading look at him. "Oh, come *on*: we've gotta live a little, even if it means spending a little extra money," he replied, wheedling before turning back to the cases. "Ooh, red velvet cake roll slices... they don't have that often! and I *love* red velvet," he said.
"Just pick one, Tsuzuki: Our lunch break is going to end before you pick something to eat," Hisoka replied, patiently, checking his wristwatch.
"Hisoka, you can't hurry a decision like this: and if nothing else, we can have it put in a take-away box," Tsuzuki replied.
"We're going to have to get back to this case: it won't solve itself," Hisoka said, his turn to plead now. "I'll pay for whatever you get, just *pick something*."
Tsuzuki looked up. "You'd really do that? Thanks, Hisoka! I was a little short on cash, so every little bit helps," he said, straightening up. To the clerk behind the counter, he said, "I'll take two of the red velvet roll cake slices, and could you make them extra thick?"
"One will do, I'll just take a small green tea, cream, no sugar," Hisoka put in.
Tsuzuki looked at him, puzzled. "Is that going to be enough?" he asked.
"Sweets aren't my thing, you know that," Hisoka replied, patiently.
"Well, I just wanted to share it with you..." Tsuzuki fumbled.
"It's all right: I'll get a salad somewhere," Hisoka replied, reassuring him.
