Author's Note: Written for < lj user="fuda_100">'s "Shikigami". Featuring Tsuzuki and Suzaku.
Of the twelve shikigami Tsuzuki bound to serve him, he found Suzaku one of his favorites: she came the quickest when he called for her, as if eager to assist him. She sheltered him with her wings, fended off threats: she did her best to protect him, including from himself, that night he nearly went mad from one of Muraki's assaults.
She reminded him of his sister that way, looking out for him, protecting him from the kids in the village who teased and attacked him. Even Ruka didn't possess that kind of strength, but she had the same heart.
