Rummaging in a sheaf of old photographs, mostly school pictures along with Grandfather's candid snaps: looking at these images of his younger self, the knobby-kneed youngster in Eton shorts, the youth in his early teens in his school uniform, book in hand, the college graduate in a suit already short for his lean frame. The age-old question came to him, "What became of the youth he had been?" and he let it linger: sometimes, he wondered if that youth still lingered in the less shadowed corners of his psyche, not yet driven away by the predator who dominated his psyche.
