"I'd better warn you, a cat has adopted me," Kazu-kun told her as she entered the apartment.
"Don't you mean you adopted a cat?" she said, peering around the front room, seeking a feline.
Something emitted a low, yowling growl from atop a bookcase; she looked up to see a white bobtailed cat sitting amongst some books, eying her as if trying to decide her as prey or companion.
"No, Armaros has adopted me: he's taken over my bookshelf to survey his domain."
"Odd name for a cat."
"The name of an angelic enchanter: cats are said to be magical."
