Annette, the doll he had found fallen from Mama's collection, her face cracked.
He had caressed her face, taken her up, clasped her gently, whispered to her. "Don't worry, I'll be a doctor like Papa and Grandfather and make you all better."
Not long after, Annette vanished from his shelves... then Teddy. Then more...
