comment_fic's "Yami no Matsuei, Tsuzuki & or / Hisoka, 'Waaaah! Not more paperwork'"
As per usual, that morning, Hisoka found his partner snoozing with his head on the desk top, a smear of vanilla frosting at the corner of his mouth, and a few tell-tale cupcake wrappers scattered beside his cheek.
Hisoka plunked several file folders and a stack of blank report forms down beside Tsuzuki's head, then shook the sleeping older male's shoulder.
Tsuzuki mumbled sleepily. "Oh, please, Earl, does it have to be the whole thing?" Hisoka let him go quickly, not wanting to see what he was dreaming about: Tsuzuki's dreams tended towards an embarrassing and alarming vividness.
"Hey, wake up: we're behind on these reports and Tatsumi wants them ASAP," Hisoka said, plunking himself down in the chair next to his partner.
"I was going to get to it when I woke up after my break," Tsuzuki said, rubbing his eyes.
"Your break's been over for ten minutes," Hisoka reminded up. "And we've got two weeks of cases to catch up on: there's the incubus case --"
"I thought we filed that one already."
"No, we didn't: you misplaced your notes and you were recovering from getting drained by that creature. Then there's the ghost on the subway."
"Isn't that case still open because the ghost was from Terazuma and Wakaba's region?"
"It is, but we still need to write up our part in the investigation. And then there's the angry spirit that terrorized that shrine --"
"Not that one! I don't wanna think about it right now. I still have nightmares from it."
"Tsuzuki, it has to get done eventually."
"Waaaahh! You're as mean Tatsumi is," Tsuzuki howled, very like a spoiled kid being ordered to clean his room.
Hisoka knew of just one thing that would quiet his partner (besides the promise of a cinnamon roll). Making sure no one could see them, he leaned in and kissed Tsuzuki on the mouth. He felt his beloved stiffen, then relax before he released him.
"Okay, I take that back," Tsuzuki said, accepting the stack of folders. "That's one thing Tatsumi would never do."
