Only book in the hotel room: the Gideon Bible and to her surprise, Esther found Jack reading it.
"I thought you snarked at religion," she said.
"Had to pass the time somehow," Jack said, sliding the open book across the bedcovers to her. "Got one story named after you."
"Mom named me after her great-aunt, as far as I know..."
He tapped the page. "It's also the name of a queen, a brave woman who put her life on the line to save her people. Much like what you're doing now, only you're trying to save the whole human race."
